Raquel has over five years of environmental field experience, a background in scientific research, project management, outreach, and education. Prior to her time with MSA, she worked for Hawaii Pacific University Center for Marine Debris Research as a Research Manager where she led several projects related to the removal and research of marine plastic pollution in the Hawaiian Archipelago. Raquel joined MSA in November 2023 as a project coordinator, marine scientist, and a scientific diver. She assists with environmental permitting, reporting, and mitigation required by the local, state, and federal agencies. Moreover, she is part of the scientific diving team and has conducted surveys to delineate, monitor, and transplant submerged aquatic vegetation.
