MSA biologists performed an ESA biological survey and a habitat survey delineating existing wetlands, streams, estuarine lagoons, and shorelines for a proposed new development of facilities at Haley State Park, located in Pierce County on the Key Peninsula. The proposed development includes constructing a new parking lot, bathroom, ADA-accessible trail system, and observation lookout kiosk at this 178-acre park that currently consists of undeveloped forested lands and a dirt footpath leading down to a scenic lagoon and shoreline. MSA biologists delineated and rated several wetlands, conducted OHWM determinations on all streams, and provided the Parks with GIS mapping of critical areas and their associated buffers. MSA staff wrote a Wetland Report, Habitat Management Plan, and assisted with mitigation planning for permitting this project.
