Proj 6: Peninsula Trails

Peninsula Trails Coalition; Hall Baetz Viewpoint Site Shoreline, Stream, and Wetland Restoration Project; Jefferson County, WA: 2022

MSA biologists performed a wetland delineation and rating for two wetlands, along with a stream and shoreline OHWM survey, for permitting the construction of a public viewpoint on three parcels owned by the Jefferson Land Trust, located at the south end of Discovery Bay, Puget Sound. MSA staff then prepared a Habitat Management Plan, Wetland report, and a restoration and monitoring plan encompassing 10,840 ft2 of a defined planting plan for mitigation. It was also recommended to plant the disturbed areas with a native prairie mix to help restore native prairie areas that were once abundant on the peninsula. This project was a collaboration between the Peninsula Trails Coalition and the Jefferson Land Trust.
