In 2023, MSA staff conducted eelgrass delineations and macroalgae assessments in the vicinity of Wyckoff Beach Super Fund site through intertidal surveys and SCUBA surveys. The targeted submerged aquatic vegetation were in specified impact areas and adjacently located reference areas. Delineations and assessments included eelgrass density counts and qualitative measurements of macroalgae. Subsequently, staff transcribed data into GIS and mapped final products for use by the EPA, Jacobs Engineering, and contractors. The focus work was to determine spatial coverage of existing submerged aquatic vegetation within the project area.
